As Many Reps As Possible - AMRAP

Updated: Apr 13, 2023

AMRAP stands for "As Many Reps As Possible".

What is AMRAP?

The concept of AMRAP was developed by CrossFit founder, Greg Glassman. He wanted to create a way for people to challenge themselves and push through barriers, and the idea of completing as many reps as possible was born.

How is AMRAP used during training?

It is a type of workout that challenges participants to complete a set number of exercises in a given amount of time. AMRAP workouts are a great way to test your endurance, strength, and cardiovascular capacity. An AMRAP workout typically consists of a set of exercises that are performed for a certain amount of time or a set number of repetitions. These exercises may range from bodyweight movements such as squats, push-ups, and burpees to more complex movements like Olympic lifts and kettlebell swings. Once the timer runs out, the person has completed their AMRAP workout.
